Well I have been

Training a lot that I have posted on here, out of being busy, and such.

So for those interested you can see my training at: My Nike+ Site

Or you can go to : My Daily Mile Site

Nike+ just has running/walking, while Daily Mile includes my aerobics, yoga, and other things.

I’ve gained the past two weigh ins.

I’m not okay with this, but frankly the past two weeks I deserved it.  No reverence for tracking, or exercising.  But It’s cool, I’ve got a plan.

22 Days!

Till surgery.  Everyone keeps telling me that my surgery isn’t going to hurt.  Eff you.  There is something going into my body by way of cutting me open.  I don’t care how small the incision is.  Ever had a paper cut?  Those are small, and they hurt something fierce.  Let me make the determination myself if it will hurt, when I get out of recovery.

There are worse things I could be going through yes, but at the same time, I wish it would stop being downplayed what I am actually going through.  I know that some are just trying to make me feel better, but really, please just stop.

April was a bad month.  A very bad month.

Let’s make May better.

Whaaaaaat????

Distance: 2.74 miles

Time: 00:56:05 ( I was walking ya’ll)

Pace: 20’27″

Calories: 244

So Jason and I decided because it was such nice weather, we would go for a walk.  A walk that turned into 2.74 miles.  It was glorious.  I seriously felt amazing while walking.  It was painful, don’t get me wrong, and I am sure my doctor would be pissed if he knew I did that, but oh well.  I also think he’d be mad to know I am planning on going to the gym tomorrow as well.  Oh well.  I want to walk as much as possible before it becomes impossible.

It’s been a while

So,  a lot has changed.  I got my MRI Authrogram results, took them to the Ortho on April 19, and it was concluded that I have three tears in my cartilage and two bone spurs inhibiting my left hip joint from operating properly. Other than this being severely painful, it has made the simple act of walking to the bathroom in my office, a trial.  It has also made sitting or standing for long periods of time hard, and stairs are almost impossible.

The surgery is set for May 25th and I frankly can’t wait.  I can’t wait for the relief, for the physical therapy to help, for anything.

I have a regular doctors appointment on Wednesday for something else that showed up in the MRI and I am gonna ask her for some pain meds so that the everyday things I have to do, like walking, sitting, standing, driving, won’t be horribly painful.

I am trying to see the bigger picture here, the silver lining if you will.  I am falling short of it.

So I guess this post was meant to convey that there will be no racing, running training, or the like for quite some time.  Which hurts.  I was so happy when I was running.  There will be walking, yoga, and strength training though… hopefully that will sustain me until I can hit the pavement again.

MRI Authrogram

Waiting Room 1

Waiting Room 2

My Identification while in the Hospital

Me after the injection - lightheaded, dizzy and nauseated

Okay so my appointment was at 1:00 pm I waited forever to even get in.  Then I waited in another waiting room.  Then I was tagged and given tons of paperwork to fill out, including a waiver.

Then I got the injection.  I had apparently a doctor who was blind or it was his first time doing it.  He had to stab me with the needle 7 times until he found the injection area.  I then had an allergic reaction to the injection.  So they had to give me an epie shot, and then a different type of injection.  To which he also missed twice.

so the final picture of me looking like death in the mirror, was me wishing for death.

I finally got the MRI, which was just annoying, not horrible.  I mean it is what it is.

I have the disk, and I go to the actual doctor on the 19th.

Still no answers, and now, more pain.

Yoga

So in this time period of my life where I shouldn’t do any sort of running, I am left with few options as to what I can do to get my heart racing enough to make a sufficient calorie burn.  So I turned to Jillian Michaels.

I haven’t experience a 5 pound loss, and frankly I would be worried if I did, but I have experienced increased muscle tone, more energy, more balance, soreness from contorting my body into a position I didn’t think I could ever feasibly do, and of course peace of mind, and a zen like state.

Well may be not a Zen like state.  But more relaxed.   At the same time I felt more energized, and loose.  My body felt like movement was flowing, not restricted.

Jason’s comment last night when I was doing this move:

It's Called 'Wheel' - and yes I nailed it.

“Wow, that looks hard.”

Thanks for your constructive feedback Jason.  I must give him credit though.  While I was holding this position for an UnGodly 30 seconds, he made a wonderful salad for dinner that consisted of Spinach lettuce mix, orange and red peppers, onions, shallots, tomatoes, cucumbers, chick peas, feta cheese, lemon and olive oil.  A-MAZ-ING.

Seriously It was that good.

Slept in too late today.  Which was good and bad.  I wanted to go the gym but I knew if I did, I would barely be able to walk today.  So I just turned my alarm off.  But that backfired leaving me less than an hour to get ready for work.  Oops.

After work I plan on doing Yoga again, you know, to prepare for my impending doom tomorrow of the MRI Authrogram.

I’ll post pictures.
